New Beginning

Ok I just went to a Luncheon mainly about Black women. It was nothin negative. People in the panel spoke about how you shouldn't be ashamed to show your friends, family, and other people you know yourself. Don't be someone you're not. One of the people I spoke to was Takekia(not going to say her whole name) but she runs a program for teens called HipHop For Life. I spoke to her because she has worked with many, many famous people. I want to be a fashion designer/model when I get older. One of the main things she told me was that when you shake hands with someone, you want to have a firm (sort of tight grip on the other person's hand.) Another thing was when you talk about how your going to begin to go for your dream, don't say "try". She said don't say try because it shows that you won't show your best. It's like she compared it to the word "procrastination." I cant say how much I want to thank her because if it weren't for her, I would not be posting anything right now. I would not be planning how to start a fashion club in my school.
